The Dean’s Office welcomes all students and staff to South Fork High School.  Our office is committed to maintaining a safe and orderly learning environment on campus.  Our discipline policy is outlined in the Student Handbook and follows the guidelines which are printed in the Martin County Student Conduct and Discipline Code.

In addition to discipline issues, students, parents and staff may seek assistance from the Dean’s Office in matters involving lockers, student and staff parking or safety issues.  This year the Martin County School District has revised the Dress Code Policy.  We have included it here for your convenience

Student Dress Code

 

The *NEW SCHOOL GUIDELINES— All shirts must have sleeves, a collar or crew neck. Shirts may not allow cleavage to be seen. Shirts must be tucked in or up to  3- 5 inches below the waist and no longer than the wrist. Leggings must be covered with a dress code item. (i.e.  shorts, skirt, etc.)*SEE NEW#2&9 DISTRICT RULES, ITEM #6&7 IN OUR HANDBOOK.

Additional Guidelines Are As Follows:

1.                   Responsible footwear must be worn at all times.  NO SLIPPERS! Shoes with built in containers are prohibited. Shoes laces need to be secured.

2.                   The following examples include but are not limited to what is considered unacceptable: pajamas, tank tops, boxers (as shorts),   spaghetti straps, and midriff shirts/blouses are NOT permitted.

3.                   See-through mesh garments are NOT permitted. No hair curlers, etc.

4.                   Washcloths, headbands, wristbands, towels, hats, head covers, head-rags, bandanas, hoods, and sunglasses are NOT to be brought on campus during school hours or worn. Small hair ribbons are O.K.

5.                   No clothing may be worn which displays profanity, violence, sexually suggestive phrases, symbols, pictures, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, or advertisements for such products or other phrases or symbols, which are inconsistent with the educational atmosphere. 

6.                   Skirts, skorts, divided skirts, and dresses  may be no shorter than 2 inches above the top of the knee. Shorts must be no shorter than 4 inches above the knee.

7.                   Pants, jeans and slacks must be worn to the top of the hipbone or higher. Pants must be secured and fasted at the hip, must not be baggy or oversized and the helm of the pant leg must not drag on the ground.

8.                   Form fitting leotards and spandex type clothing, of any fabric, shall NOT be worn.  Leotard/spandex fabric of any kind is NOT a substitute for pants.

9.                   Underwear/undergarments SHOULD NEVER be visible.  All trousers must be worn at waist level and secured at waist level.

10.                Any student not wearing proper clothing will be referred to the Dean’s Office for action to: change, have parent bring appropriate clothing, and/or punitive action including sending the student home.  Rings or jewelry that could harm a person ARE NOT ALLOWED.            

11.                Clothing which is not worn appropriately, is not properly fastened,

or has tears or holes will not be permitted. 

Parents,  please note that electronic devices are not allowed at school.  If your student is caught using a cell phone, gaming device or music player, it will be confiscated and may be retrieved by an adult only.  Hats, sunglasses, towels or any items which may be construed as gang related will also be confiscated and kept in the Dean’s Office for parent pick-up.  Your cooperation and support are greatly appreciated.

Parking Decals for 2008-2009

**Spaces are limited**

Parking Decals may be purchased starting Monday, April 21st
ONLY JUNIORS AND SENIORS ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR PARKING!
(CLASSES OF 2009 AND 2010)

(Your class is determined by your credits earned, not when you enrolled)

Sharing or transferring of decals will result in loss of driving privilege for the remainder of the year.
Only students who meet school requirements may drive.

REMEMBER: DRIVING IS A PRIVILEGE NOT A RIGHT!

You MUST have a valid Florida driver's license!  You MUST have a current vehicle registration in your name (or parent/guardian's name) to apply

Learner's permits are not acceptable!

Seniors - Class of 2009 GPA's

4.0 April 24-25
3.0 to 3.9 April 28 - May 2nd
2.0 to 2.9 May 5th - May 9th

Juniors Class of 2010 GPA's

4.0 May 12 - 13
3.0 -to 3.9 May 14 - 16
2.0 to 2.9 May 19 - 23

Any outstanding ASD's, Tardy Sweeps, and Friday Schools must be served before your application will be considered for approval!
