Read the comic and create a “book in a bag”, a bag to hold five items which represent the comic. You need an item to represent the main character, setting of the story, and an event from the beginning, middle, and end of the story. The first day of school you will present your bag orally, explaining the significance of each item in the bag (what it is, why you chose it, and its significance to the story) IN SPANISH. You cannot read your presentation but you may use a note card with no more than 5 bullet points if you wish. You will also have a quiz on the first day of class.

French 4 -

24 pages/entries + photos (Stanley and student in the photo)

Table of contents listing page numbers based on verb tenses

(Ex. Future – pages 10, 12, 13)

Students will create a washable fabric “doll” which they can name.  The students will be required to keep a journal of at least 24 pictures (a typical disposable camera amount of film) and an entry for each picture.

Journals can be in a standard composition book, however some students prefer to put them in a photo album where they can journal.

All entries will be written in French.  Stanley will be present in each picture.  Journals are due on the first day of school and will be a test grade.

Each level of French will be assessed differently.  Criteria are listed below.  Levels are based on what the students will be taking in the fall.

24 pages/ entries – NOTE: 1 sentence/entry; 4 entries in the future; 2 entries in the conditional; 10 entries in the past ; 2 entries in the subjunctive; 1 entry in the present perfect; 1 entry in the present progressive; Other entries may be in the present or above tenses.

Entries should include appropriate idiomatic expressions.  Please remember to occasionally use replacement pronouns.

Creativity is appreciated but not necessary to do well on this project.  Grades are assessed on following four components:

1)  24 journal entries (with level appropriate criteria),

2)  Table of contents listing page numbers and corresponding verb tenses (ex., Future – pages 10, 12 and 17),

3)  24 photos with student AND Stanley.  Stanley loves vacation and would love to join you.  Parents and siblings enjoy helping with the picture portion of this project and are welcome to be involved.  Students will give a 2-minute presentation of the highlights from their summer with Stanley the first day of school.  The presentation will be a quiz grade.  Bon chance!
